College of Education and Human Development Research

The is committed to improving the learning process for students at all levels and in all types of organizations. The college鈥檚 research initiatives are deeply rooted in improving the surrounding communities and opportunities for all students. Its four research centers and one institute are committed to affecting educational policy and change to聽sustain long-term, positive impacts across these聽communities.

The College of Education and Human Development also has academic departments dedicated to educational policy, leadership and organization, and instructional strategies, as well as understanding the relationship between behavioral health and learning.

Centers & Institutes

  • 罢丑别听聽serves as a hub for collaborative research around three core topics: teacher education, urban community development, and community behavioral and mental health.
  • 罢丑别听聽offers careerlong services to CTE professionals throughout the seventeen counties that comprise the eastern region of Pennsylvania. Its mission is to facilitate the professional development of all educators who work with career-bound students.
  • 罢丑别听Institute on Disabilities聽creates connections and promotes聽networks within and among communities so that people with disabilities are recognized as integral to the fabric of community life.
  • 罢丑别听聽strengthens communities by bringing generations together to address critical concerns and creating opportunities for lifelong civic engagement.

Facilities

The College of Education and Human Development is primarily located in Ritter Hall, Ritter Hall Annex聽and Weiss Hall on 51动漫鈥檚 Main Campus. The campus鈥檚 North Philadelphia location is聽suited to provide opportunities for students to engage with area schools, communities, government agencies, and for-profit and nonprofit organizations.

Research Funding

In 2016, the National Science Foundation placed 51动漫 among the top 100 in terms of research expenditures, which amounted to $242 million. .
