Master of Accountancy

Prepare to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) from 51¶¯Âþ’s . This accredited program, designed for individuals seeking CPA designation, can be completed in either three semesters for full-time students or six semesters (two calendar years) for part-time students. Graduates leave the MAcc program equipped for rewarding careers in public accounting and other accounting-related positions, having deepened their industry knowledge, sharpened their communication skills, and developed the ability to conduct and analyze research.

Solidify your classroom knowledge and gain the tools to become a successful CPA within one year. 51¶¯Âþ’s Master of Accountancy incorporates CPA exam review courses as well as time to sit for the exam. Each semester features content directly aligned with one or more parts of the CPA exam, and all 30 credit hours earned in the program count toward CPA licensure requirements.

The MAcc program delivers a curriculum that challenges and motivates high-performing students with courses geared toward career results. build on undergraduate accounting coursework while delving into advanced accounting topics in auditing and taxation. The Fox Master of Accountancy curriculum emphasizes

  • business acumen,
  • critical and analytical skills,
  • ethics and integrity standards, and
  • industry expertise.

Classes are also designed to impart crucial soft skills to graduate students. Faculty develop student’s abilities in both written and oral communication, team building, leadership and technology. Outside the classroom, students attend and participate in workshops and seminars led by industry professionals exploring current issues and topics relevant in accounting, auditing and taxation.

Most MAcc students share a common goal as they strive for job placement with one of the Big Four, national or regional accounting firms. Fox faculty members have strong recruitment relationships across the country and region including with the Big Four accounting firms. This vital network expands student opportunities, guides MAcc students to CPA status during or after they complete the program, and helps them connect to the right job upon graduation.

Classes & Curriculum

Fox's 30-credit Master of Accountancy delivers an advanced curriculum designed to meet industry standards and prepare students for positions in the demanding field of accounting. The program can be completed on a full- (12-month) or part-time (24-72 months) basis including evening and hybrid courses. All courses take place on 51¶¯Âþ's Main Campus, providing students with access to city life and connections to leading organizations.

Tuition & Fees

In keeping with 51¶¯Âþ’s commitment to access and affordability, this Master of Accountancy offers a competitive level of tuition with multiple opportunities for financial support.

Tuition rates are set annually by the university and are affected by multiple factors, including program degree level (undergraduate or graduate), course load (full- or part-time), in-state or out-of-state residency, and more. These tuition costs apply to the 2024–2025 academic year.

Pennsylvania resident: $1,165.00 per credit
Out-of-state: $1,165.00 per credit
