Fundamentals of Physics Undergraduate Certificate

Master your quantitative and modeling skills with the UndergraduateÌýCertificateÌýin Fundamentals of PhysicsÌýin 51¶¯Âþ’sÌý. This 12-credit, three-course certificate program is designed for current undergraduate students interested in customizing their education with the foundations of physics.Ìý

You’ll study the rudimentary principles of physical science as well as the rapidly evolving developments in the greater world of physics, such as quantum computing and materials science. Work with faculty members with years of hands-onÌýexperience, offering mentorship opportunities in both formal undergraduate research and informal professional development.ÌýÌý

Students enrolled in the program willÌý

  • analyze physical systems, including data and error analysis and dimensional analysis;
  • interpret the fundamental scientific principles of physics; and
  • use mathematical methods, including coordinate systems, single and multivariate calculus, and vector algebra to study physical models.
