Teaching Assistantships

Teaching assistantships provide full- or half-tuition remission along with accompanying stipends. Assistantships include

  • acting for full-tuition remission as well as a stipend for classroom, lab or studio teaching, 聽including grading papers for literature and survey classes;
  • design for full-tuition remission as well as a stipend for classroom, lab or studio teaching 20 hours per week in the shop related to the student鈥檚 chosen discipline;
  • directing for full- or half-tuition remission and a stipend for up to three years, based on the number of assistantships allocated to the program; and 聽
  • playwriting for tuition remission and a stipend for exceptional candidates when assistantships are available.

Graduate Fellowships

Fellowships are available through 51动漫鈥檚 graduate school for students with exceptional academic records. They include

  • presidential fellowships, which are reserved for only the most outstanding candidates; and
  • university fellowships, which are intended to support students who demonstrate outstanding potential for success in their chosen fields.

These fellowships provide a stipend plus tuition for two years. .

Federal Financial Aid

Federal Stafford Loans

Applying for federal Stafford loans requires completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). At 51动漫, unsubsidized Stafford loans are available to full-time graduate students up to a maximum amount of $20,500 annually.

Federal Work-study

Eligibility for the Federal Work-study Program is based on the applicant鈥檚 need as determined by the information on the applicant鈥檚 FAFSA. In addition, students must be enrolled at least half time and maintain satisfactory academic progress. Students are paid biweekly for hours worked.
