51¶¯Âþ taekwondo club teaches traditional taekwondo techniques along with a variety of mixed martial arts. Our goal is to not only develop high levels of strength, agility, and endurance, but to also educate members on the importance of self-confidence, determination and most importantly, teamwork. Founded in 1997 under Master Laurence Narcisi, 51¶¯Âþ taekwondo has since expanded to over 40 active members and is currently coached by students and alumni who are well-versed in taekwondo and other martial arts. Each semester, we participate in three collegiate taekwondo tournaments held up and down the East Coast, including Yale, MIT, Princeton, Cornell, and Brown. In the spring of 2011, we earned the title of Division III champions for 2010–2011, and our team continues to strive for individual and team success. We encourage students of all skill levels to join! Membership provides uniforms, protective equipment, and opportunities to earn belt degrees. Shoot us an email if you have questions or are interested!
